1. The Stacked Odds

As a full grown 2 years plus Rottweiler with Vitiligo my chances of being adopted is slightly bleak as compared to the Friendly neighborhood’s labradors  or a Retriever or even a plain Jane guard doggie . My life may very well be  spent in this small 6  x 6 tin roofed hot furnace called the kennel for the rest of my life. The odds are stacked against me, but I refuse to let that dampen my spirit. I have a loving heart and an unwavering desire to have a family pack of my own.

So like all doggies  I shake off the feeling off odds or negativity  like dusting off sand from my body  shake shake.

2. A Pawsitive First Impression

First things first, to be adopted I have to work towards winning the affection and connect with a human  to start my Human Pack  here I have to put my best smile and wag my tail at every potential lead with whom I can connect so with drool full of love and anticipation. Alas it is disheartening to watch all the cooing and puppy talk towards other doggies and sudden change as they approach my kennel with the odds.

My tail skips a beat, but I put my self together and still put my best Paw forward.

3. A Ready Learner

In my current situation, transitioning from the streets to the kennel has required me to be a willing learner. I have had to adapt to new circumstances, such as responding to new names and walking on a leash. These are just a few of the new skill sets that I have learned.

I am good at accepting the changes as life throws a curve ball at me trust me I am a good catcher and an excellent catch.

4. Defying Stereotypes

OMG it’s a Rottweiler Good lord what’s wrong with him ….. he has got vitiligo keep him away my children may get it. OOOOO NOOOO NO he will kill us all. Is the kennel doors strong to keep him in ….. stay away …

As a Rottweiler with Vitiligo, I have faced unfair perceptions and stereotypes. People often recoil in fear or hesitate upon seeing me, assuming the worst about my breed and condition.

But I don’t give up, I start each day with the same exuberance and spirit of never giving up in spite of all the odds,  negativity and Breed Notion you see.
